I'm Ollie Rosario. I'm an artist, maker, composer, researcher, and educator.
I create and compose with electronic musical instruments that explore hidden sonic worlds. Within this practice, I explore a personal need to communicate with and understand facets of the spaces I inhabit without intruding upon them. These instruments interact with discrete features of environments, like soil, air pressure, and humidity, seeking to communicate with them in a language they may understand. I celebrate the subjective, environment-dependent, evolving, and personal nature of sound through these instruments, as well as in composition and writing. Searching for musical wonder in the silent facets of spaces creates stories. I aspire to present stories that reflect a need to re-entangle humanity and nature, and disrupt the fabricated dichotomy separating the two.
